The third Asian Para Games will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia from 6 to 13 October 2018. Over 3,000 athletes from 43 countries and territories will compete in 18 sports, namely archery, athletics, badminton, boccia, chess, cycling, goalball, judo, lawn bowls, powerlifting, shooting, swimming, tenpin bowling, table tennis, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing and wheelchair tennis.
Logo
The logo is developed from the concept of “Harmony” that is formed by the diversified nations all over Asia. The pieces forming the circle represent the shape of the main venue of the Games, Gelora Bung Karno Stadium from bird-view. The moving man in the center symbolizes athletes striving for sporting excellence and “the Energy of Asia” in motion form, while the surrounding three curves in three colors indicate the significant progress brought by Asian nations in unity.
Mascot
The mascot Momo is an Elang Bondol, a mighty, brave, long lasting and tough bird. Its name is taken from the abbreviation of “Motivation” and “Mobility”, implies the meaning of moving forward and adaptation to changes.
Slogan
The slogan “The Inspiring Spirit & Energy of Asia” emphasizes the unity of Asian nations and the passionate spirit that motivates people to be positive, an inspiration for mankind.
Hong Kong Delegation
The Indonesia 2018 Asian Para Games will be the 3rd Asia Para Games that Hong Kong participates in since 2010. A total of 173 Hong Kong Delegation members, including 101 athletes and 72 coaches, medical officials, delegation officials and NPC representatives, will compete in 10 sports, namely archery, athletics, badminton, boccia, lawn bowls, shooting, swimming, tenpin bowling, table tennis and wheelchair fencing.
